Assorted 2018 Cotton + Steel
Welsummer by Kim Kight
Paper Cuts by Rashida Coleman-Hale
I always look forward to the release of new collections by the Cotton + Steel team and as the 2018 collections have started to roll out I have started by selecting designs that immediately appealed, and there were quite a few fun new designs in signature C+S style and color palette (not all prints from these two collections are shown here).
Egg Cuts in Navy and Peachy
Florametry in Ice, Sweet Orange, and Bright Blue
Welsummer (a breed of chickens) is Kim Kight’s latest collection. It is inspired by Scandinavian folk design and retro kitchen imagery. The entire collection is printed on unbleached cotton, giving it a depth and warmth, and the whimsical egg prints are dedicated to Kim’s real-life flock of backyard chickens.
Paper Cuts is inspired by the Japanese festival Tanabata, also known as the Star Festival, and the art of Kirigami, a type of origami that involves the cutting of paper to create beautiful and intricate shapes. All but two prints are printed on unbleached fabric to create the natural warmth of vintage paper.

These are very nice prints. I particularly like the daisy vines in denim.
ReplyDeleteOhhh these are so pretty. Love the colors.
ReplyDeleteI love the paper bouquet, they are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid many of the fabrics in your sundaystashes never reach the Dutch quiltshops.
Luckily we can see them in your blog!
C+S bright and poppy colors are always fun!
