Mixed bundle of Alexander Henry Fabrics
This mixed fabric bundle is a step outside of my comfort zone; medium to large scale prints and a riot of color and quirky designs. I know these are not what I usually go for when piecing a quilt but I am so drawn to them! All of these prints are by Alexander Henry Fabrics; a premier textile design house known for their cutting edge cotton prints often inspired by art history and runway fashion.

I look at fabrics closely and in particular for their fussy cutting potential. Rather than focusing on whole design, I visually break down the design elements and look for the smaller features; for example the flowers in the above fabric. Unique snippets of fabric can really change the overall look of a quilt.

I always find Alexander Henry fabrics very intriguing.
ReplyDeleteIt took me a long time to warm up to skulls, but I do love some of them, The cute ladies on the beach, I love them, so sweet. I have a fat quarter of them.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very nice pile of fabric. I need to sew faster.
