I am starting the week with a fun and quick custom quilt order! My brief was for a simple patchwork baby quilt top (quilt top only) for a newborn baby girl. All other aspects of the quilt were completely up to me. I have chosen a traditional and girly pink color palette, with the addition of some warm colors (orange and yellow) and contrasted those with several classic black white prints, and a linen feature fabrics.
Playing with color and fabric is truly my favorite part of the quilt making process, and these not so scrappy quilts are a great way to challenge myself and work on building my color palette skills. I think you will recognise many of the prints used, including Liberty prints, popular Heather Ross mermaids, octopi, and strawberies, as well as deer by Birch Fabrics and a larger scale own print on a linen blend fabric by Kokka Fabrics.

Such a fresh and fun baby quilt. I also love that it isn't too babyish so even a young lady growing up will adore it. What a lucky little girl who will get this treasure.

ReplyDeleteIt's lovely. I always find myself admiring the low volume prints you use in many of your quilts.
