for Cotton + Steel
The fifth release of Cotton + Steel collections is just about to hit the stores and I cannot wait! I have managed to get my hands on several bundles - from sample spree at quilt market - and thought I would share with you some photos, starting with one of my favorite collections.
Trinket by Melody Miller is loosely based on items you might find in or on a mid-century desk and features the rotary phone, plastic whistles, ball point pens, and vintage wooden spools. Melody's love for vintage fabrics and iconic screen printed art let her to use lots of layered textures and colors. I like the repeat of design elements across the collections, including prior collections, as well from other Cotton + Steel designers. It makes the collections cohesive and all of the fabrics easy to mix and match.
Also offered as part of each collection are several design in different substrates. Trinket includes two double gauze fabrics (see the two fabrics on left hand side below) and two linen/cotton blend fabrics (the two fabrics on the right hand side) as pictured:
