Me + You for Hoffman Fabrics
I am so happy to feature this collection today! Grafic is the debut fabric collection by Latifah Saafir and the first screen print collection under the Me + You brand of modern fabrics for Hoffman Fabrics. Latifah is known for her bold and innovative modern quilts. She has successfully combined her education in engineering with her lifelong passion for sewing to launch a pattern design company and she has now ventured into fabric design. I have had the pleasure of meeting Latifah and we spent time together at Sewtopia Chicago a year ago. Latifah is inspiring, creative, forward thinking, as well as genuine and kindhearted. If you have the opportunity to take one of Latifah's quilting/sewing classes please don't hesitate for she is also an excellent teacher.
The Grafic collection celebrates Latifah’s wonder years growing up in Los Angeles where graffiti and street art influenced her explorations in creativity. “The line is not reflective of the art itself,” she said. “Instead, it is about celebrating the environments where it is found and the graphic elements that inspire it.”
