Bluebird ~ Cotton + Steel
Today a continuation of last week's Sunday Stash post featuring more of the recently released Cotton + Steel Collections, starting this week with beautiful Bluebird ~
Bluebird is a 23 piece collaborative collection by the Cotton + Steel designers. It forms a spectrum from warm and intentionally aged indigo fabrics, to bright classic cobalt, and strong white contrast fabrics. You may note that several of these fabrics were used in my Carkai Half Square Triangle Quilt.
The Bluebird collection was inspired by a group of vintage Japanese fabrics that had aged and naturally discolored over a period of time. As such included are two prints - designed for piecing only, and perhaps not suitable for dresses and garments - complete with watermarks and discoloration to add richness and depth to Bluebird quilts.

Oh, the Bluebird! You can't go wrong mixing blue with white and black!
ReplyDeleteYikes! So pretty, Rita. I love the blues too.
ReplyDeleteThe adorable perky fabrics from Melody Miller are also very attractive.
Happy Sunday.
The Christmas celebrations and all of the holiday gatherings and festivities are over. I am rather looking forward to getting back to the hum drum for a while.
Here is US, I noticed the stores already have their shelves stocked with Valentines clutter. Hil-arious!
C&S hasn't really appealed to me yet - although one B&W grouping was totally my thing, but I like Bluebird! Will have to watch for this one. Sadly, the Cdn $ is terribly weak presently, so no online shopping right now. :-(
