Two baby quilts - just for fun. I mean, who doesn't like making baby quilts? They're quick and easy, but still allow for fabric and color play. What's more, these two baby quilts were made to a specific size so that I could use up two large pieces of scrap batting. Don't waste a thing.
And just in case your curious about some of the fabrics that I have used:
- Buck Forest in Night from the Hello Bear Collection by Bonnie Christine (Art Gallery Fabrics)
- Several prints from the recently released Blueberry Park collection by Karen Lewis (Robert Kaufman Fabrics)
- Kerchief Girl (in red and blue) by Kei Fabrics. No longer available.
- Ribbon Floral in Alure from the Katie Jump Rope collection by Denyse Schmidt (reprint)
- Stash Basics - Dots and Stripes, Riley Blake Gingham and Chevron prints,

Each quilt top measures 34 inches x 42 inches.
Each finished square measures 3.75" x 3.75" ~
size was determined by the size of the buck/deer head print.
Ready for basting and quilting.

ReplyDeleteRita, I am always amazed at the balance you achieve in terms of color, print, and high/low volume! Your quilts make me happy. Maybe I'll eventually get more balanced by reading your posts :)

ReplyDeleteSo adorable! I just saw an IG post by GnomeAngel who was looking for some of that Kerchief Girl print in any color for a special project she is doing. I can see why - it's the perfect addition to your own special project!

Love them! I need a quilt by March 2916 but because I don't know how to mix fabrics like you, I just buy pre-cuts. I love the pattern though, and your prints are just wonderful! I sure wish I had just a little bit of your knowledge! Thank you so much for your ideas!!
ReplyDeleteThe way you put fabrics together is brilliant ; )
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of those fabrics. I wonder if I could pull it off....
ReplyDeleteLove your mix - I am just not that adventurous - thanks for sharing.
I often wonder how quilters choose the size of each square in a patchwork quilt. Ahhh....by the fussy cut size of the prints they're using! Now that makes sense;)
ReplyDeleteI was just going to ask you what the deer fabric was in your latest post, but I knew you would have listed it somewhere. :) Also, it's so fabulous to see you using the kerchief girls. I have a fat quarter of each color and I'm SO reluctant to cut into them. But they are really such a fabulous addition and SHOULD be used. I think I need to put them in something that I keep for myself and then maybe I will stop hoarding them!
ReplyDeleteLove these two quilts!
ReplyDeletetoo cute!
