All the Blues ~ A Finished Quilt

And a picture post.
All the Blues - A Finished Quilt | Red Pepper Quilts 2015

I have lots of photos to show of the finished - All the Blues - Quilt. Scroll, scroll, scroll. This quilt, with the use of many different fabrics tells a story, which I hope is conveyed in the images. There is a lot to take in. Often when I look at a quilt I see (and usually recognize) the fabric before I see the quilt design, I then have to step back and take a moment to see and take in the whole quilt. This quilt however it is all about the fabrics .... I am a fabricoholic.

I have quilted this quilt by ditch-stitching all the seam lines which works well with small patchwork squares, and whilst the quilting stitches are not readily visible the evenly spaced grid of lines do create a subtle texture that can be both seen and felt. Simple and functional quilting.

For the back of the quilt for I have again used my "go to" backing fabric which is Newsprint from the Paint collection by Carrie Bloomston ...

... and I matched it with my signature black/white stripe binding fabric.

  1. I always love your quilts because you use so much white fabric, not solid white but lovely white prints. So fresh looking, keep on making them !

  4. It is all about the fabric - I think that also. There are so many people "over quilting" and although beautiful in its own way, I find it distracting. The heavy quilting overshadows the fabric choices. Love the simple quilting style you have.

  7. I agree with Quilt Fabric Pizazz - so many people over-quilt and the fabric is lost in the shuffle. Great job! 200 fabrics? How delicious your stash must be!
