It is no secret that I love Kona Cotton by Robert Kaufman and it is my preferred solid fabric, for not only are there many color options but the colors are saturated and the fabric is lovely to work with. And I have worked Kona Cotton often ...
The quilts that I have made with Kona Cotton are up there as my favorite projects to have worked on - especially the Scrappy Pineapple Quilt (pictured above) which evokes very fond paper piecing memories. More recently I have made the Kona Color Wheel Quilt (pictured below) and I have made quilts with a focus on the use of a variety of neutral Kona background fabrics to make printed fabrics sparkle ~ all of the solid fabrics are Kona Cotton.
I have been adding Kona Cotton to my stash for a number of years, some in bundles of fat quarters, and others in bolt-like quantity (like Kona White and Kona Snow). From September Beth from Stash Fabrics is starting a Kona Club and a trip around the color wheel! I couldn't think of a better way to "collect" a huge range of Kona colors. By the end of the year, club participants will have amassed a selection of nearly half of the Kona colors in either fat quarters or half yards.
