I have lots photos of the finished Quarter Log Cabin & Gingham Quilt to share with you today. This quilt was a time consuming project - much time was spent pulling fabric from stash, cutting fabric, sewing, and pressing - but it was well worth the effort, for I have enjoyed every moment. This is how I like to sew ... cut, sew, press, repeat, and repeat. Block after block. It doesn't get boring for every block is different.
QUILT STATS

This quilt is a catalog of my "favorite" fabric stash! It is so satisfying to use fabrics from stash, especially the small scrappy bits. No piece is too small, and nothing is wasted.
For the back of the quilt I have used my current favorite backing fabric ~ Newsprint from the Paint Collection by Carrie Bloomston (and I still have yardage on hand!) matched with my favorite binding fabric ~ black and white stripe by Timeless Treasures. No surprises.
This quilt has SOLD and has already been shipped to its new owner who,
having seen the progress photos, instantly fell in love with this quilt.

I am ready for my next project ... I am cutting into my Loominous (by Anna Maria Horner) stash. This fabric collection is so different to the fabric that I usually work with, but I can't wait to show you more.

ReplyDeletebeautiful! no wonder it sold so quickly.
ReplyDeleteAmazing as usual. Each block looks like a present beautifully wrapped with red and white ribbon and a jewel in the middle.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt! I love seeing how you mix and match fabrics -- you have such a fantastic eye for creating beautiful combinations.
ReplyDeleteNo surprise. Very cool quilt.
ReplyDeleteAs always, I love the quilting part too. I am not into that intense tightly sewn circles and meandering pebbles and twirls. Yeah I tried it, it makes quilts really stiff.
Anyway, I know you enjoyed making this one. It really expresses happiness
I love your style! I think your quilts are my favorite! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou are so talented!! Thanks for sharing.
