Franklin ~ the latest collection by Denyse Schmidt has arrived! The collection is a 100% quilting cotton collection featuring eleven different designs in two distinct color palettes – Forest (cool) and Glade (warm) for a total of 24 different fabrics.
Franklin is inspired by "the magic of possibility and discovery found in the small-town libraries of her native New England", where Denyse together with her mother (who taught Denyse how to sew) would visit the local library weekly. Franklin's library is the oldest (1790) public library in the US and houses a collection of books donated by the town's namesake, Benjamin Franklin.
Nostalgic calicos, stripes, and strong geometric prints feature in this collection. The large scale dots (1 1/4" in diameter) are wonderful as are the fern leaf prints. I have already cut into fabric bundle; several prints can be seen scattered throughout my Scrappy Quarter Log Cabin Quilt.
FRANKLIN BY DENYSE SCHMIDT is available from:
Westwood Acres (coordinating solid fabric bundles available also)
Enjoy Sunday!

Such a pretty and (as always with Denise) different collection. I'm still clinging on to my Chicopee charm pack, unwilling to let it go for anything other than the perfect pattern.
