This quilt was such a fun quilt to pull together, with so many fabric favorites, lots of small piecing (those Drunkard's Path blocks are just 3 inches x 3 inches), grid quilting and then finally digging through my stash for a suitable binding fabric. Many of the text fabrics used for the quilt are from the First of Infinity collection by Kumiko Fujita, both the most recent collection as well as the earlier collections. Plus there are many more text/number fabrics from stash. There's no such thing as too many text prints in one quilt.

For the back of the quilt I have chosen one of my current favorite backing fabrics ~ Newsprint from the Paint Collection by Carrie Bloomston. You already know how much I love this fabric and I still have more yardage on hand. I love that it complements the overall text theme of this quilt.

Quilted with an all over grid of quilting lines just 1.5 inches apart; ditch stitching all the straight seam lines as well as an extra set of vertical and horizontal lines through the center of all squares. The texture this grid of lines creates makes you want to touch the quilt, and also gives the quilt a soft, airy drape.

And then I had to choose a fabric for the quilt binding. This posed a problem as my go-to black/white strip fabric didn't suit this quilt. I rummage through my stash and decided on a blue text print - also from the First of Infinity collection - which suited the tone and theme of this quilt; the perfect binding fabric.

  1. This quilt is lovely. I love the prints and also drunkards path. I also like the light grey fabric you use as background in your quilts. I have not found that light grey as yet. I enjoy your quilts very much.
