Loulouthi arrived today!
Loulouthi (the Greek word for Flower) is Anna Maria Horner's latest fabric collection which comes in a range of 30 quilting cottons as well as 6 voiles.
I have been rather impatiently awaiting the arrival of this parcel since it's release early last week, and now that it is in my possession I must say that it was well worth the wait.
I spent the morning enjoying this fabric bundle, arranging and re-arranging the colors and familiarizing myself with the various prints to see how they all work together, and then eventually braving the rather chilly weather conditions that have hit Melbourne to photograph and capture the colors of these fabrics outdoors.
Of course, since then I have been busy with the rotary cutter and the sewing machine hasn't stopped. I hope to be able to show you a little of the progress that I have made with this new quilt project tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteRita...I am so looking forward to seeing what you do with this line. We have it in our shop and I keep walking past it making a mental list but I want to see what others do with it before I commit to a few cuts.
ReplyDeleteGuess I really should go visit AMHs site to see what she has done with it...duh!;)
Seems to be the collection on everyone's blogs at the moment - and I can see why!
ReplyDeleteAre the voiles a thin fabric? I have some AMH I jsut received in a swap and they are really. So wondering now:)
ReplyDeleteIs it the photography or are these textured cottons. It looks quite course, but that would be unusual for quilting cotton. I love the colors. I hope they come to the states soon.

ReplyDeleteIt's much more beautiful in person! I think a lot of sites and blogs that have shared it lost the scale of each print. It really is lovely and I am more and more excited each day about it!
ReplyDeleteYou amaze me with the speed at which you work! I would be stuck looking at that fabric stack for weeks, maybe even months before being able to make a decision!! I can't wait to see what you're up to.
ReplyDeleteI can not wait to see what you do with this.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful stack of Loulouthi made it to my place this week too. It took my breath away when I opened it :) Couldn't think straight for hours, my head spinning with possibilities! Can't wait until your next post.
ReplyDeleteI bet you're having a lot of fun. Enjoy and I'm looking forward to seeing how you treat the new fabric.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you do with this mostly because I can't imagine a great pattern to show it all off--I'm sure you've come up with something great (and that will make me need to go buy the whole collection)!
ReplyDeleteWow, what colourful fabrics, makes me want to cut up and starting making a new quilt right away!
ReplyDeleteI am an avid follower. I watch everyday to see what next will inspire. I was brousing through some past entries and wondered if you have made anything with Sunday Stash #86. You do great work. Love it.
