... and you find yourself having to spend way too much time away from the sewing machine and the fabric stash, you still have to try and make the most of every spare moment, and make "lemonade".
My "lemonade" of course is piecing Half Square Triangles. It's been a while since my last HST quilt (almost 3 months!), and it is time to re-visit this easy and versatile block. I haven't wasted a spare minute, and now have a bunch of HST blocks all from stash fabric in range of citrus colors (Lemons, Limes and Oranges) paired up with Kona Solid in White.
My first glimpse at seeing how this quilt is going to look came this morning when the above picture was taken. The blocks were quickly arranged and pictures were hastily snapped whilst competing with the usual windy day elements (note: patchwork blocks dispersed across the backyard does delight the dog if no-one else).
More blocks are needed, and hopefully more pictures soon.
Gorgeous!!

You do a glorious lemonade. Hope there’s soon much less need for coming over creative with citrus-flavoured life stuff.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous, fresh spring colours. Lovely xx
ReplyDeleteThis looks great! Haven't ever given HST a try, but this makes me want to run into my sewing room and try it out! To bad there are a few projects sitting on my desk that have to get done first...
ReplyDeleteI'll tell you-all those citrus colors have made my mouth start to water!
ReplyDeleteOh the lengths we go to for our art.
ReplyDeleteI can just picture you sprinting across the yard chasing blocks while the dog looks on, amused.
Nice blocks BTW.

ReplyDeleteIf lemonade were this good everywhere I would be an addict! Love those colours - remind me of Spring.
ReplyDeleteHi there
ReplyDeleteI love all your quilts and you take fabulous photos of your work. Which leads me to my question...what camera do you use (if you don't mind me asking) to take these great shots? Vassi
I always love your color selections, they are so fun and vibrant!
ReplyDeleteYou've got a great combination of fabrics, as always!
ReplyDeleteOh that is one yummy quilt!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if we all have a go-to block, kind of a guilty indulgence when other quilting gets overwhelming? For me it's improvised log cabin blocks out of random scraps.
ReplyDeleteyum! You made my mouth water!
ReplyDeleteWow! So crisp and cheerful!
ReplyDeleteYay you!!!!
