A trip with my daughter to IKEA was called for this week. I must admit that I am always looking for good storage solutions which surely can be found there, although this time I came home with the type of goods for which instead storage is required:
I enjoy browsing through the tea towels and bed linens and brought home this set of 100 percent cotton towels which may just find their way into a quilt project.
It is also mandatory to spend time in the Textiles department where I couldn't resist these two prints.
My daughter and I both had a successful IKEA trip and were pleasantly surprised to find that the most difficult part was exiting the over crowded car park.
Enjoy Sunday!
Those prints are fantastic!! I didn't know IKEA carried fabric. Believe it or not...I've never been to one of their stores....and yet I hear all of you ladies talking about how wonderful they are. I must, I must, I must!
ReplyDeleteha ha I didn't realize how lucky I was living so close to an IKEA until I moved to Cali where the closest one now is 2 hours away. ACK! It's only been a month and I am having widthdrawls.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabrics you found there.
Today was IKEA day....came home with TWO expedits which are now happy in my closet and will by the end of the week be filled with all my fabric stash!!! Gotta love IKEA!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love Ikea! When I take the kids they're on their best behaviour because they know there are the 50c soft serve cones at the exit.
ReplyDeleteLove the fabrics and towels you chose, I'm planning a trip to Ikea this coming week specifically to check out their new textiles, should be some fun stuff there!
ReplyDeleteHow do you do it Rita? I went specifically searching for fabric at Ikea in Richmond just the other day but did i find or see any of that! NO! Looks like i will need to head back again! You are amazing!
ReplyDeleteI have that red hippo fabric, it's so cute. I really like those cotton towels too!
ReplyDeletehaha, that's always the most difficult part of an IKEA visit! Well, that and getting the massive trolley's into the elevator. Fun fabrics!
ReplyDeleteLove those towels, especially the polka dot one. Are those fabrics you bought heavy weight? My IKEA seems to carry only decorator-weight bolted fabrics. I've been known in the past to resort to buying bedsheets for the yardage!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love Ikea too!
ReplyDeleteIts a perfect day out for me :-)
I love Ikea but I love even more their fabrics. Beautifull stash, as always :)
ReplyDeleteWow, you have had a very successful Ikea trip! Good to hear you found your way out of the shop and the car park...
ReplyDeleteOMG!! I went to Ikea for the first time y/day, although ! did come away with a storage solution and not fabric! I did see the teatowels and think 'quilt'--I'll be interested to see how you use them! :-)
ReplyDeleteHazle
I love IKEA, and unfortunately, I can usually only visit on the weekend...which is REALLY bad...way too busy. Love those towels!
ReplyDeleteIKEA is my most favorite place to shop!!! Love the fabrics there and those towels are in my kitchen right now!
ReplyDeletei love IKEA...the fabrics and linens there are exceptional
ReplyDeleteI've never been to an IKEA! I've got to go look online! Beautiful fabric : )
ReplyDeletelove Ikea fabrics! I have those same tea towels! I got the bird fabric to make some sort of quilt ~ plus I love the prices!
ReplyDeleteI love Ikea too! Sometimes I'll buy a duvet cover (which includes pillow cases) and chop it up for a quilt... for $15! Their sheets make a great backing too!
ReplyDeleteYou got some lucky finds! You may just need to go back and get some more items for storage units ;)

Absolutely awesome fabrics! Why, oh why, do I never make time to get to IKEA?
ReplyDeleteWe visited IKEA on our last trip to Melbourne and I saw the fabric but because I was there with two kids under 3 it was impossible to browse or anything - I just have to dream about the possibilities that will be there on our next visit! I love, love, love those tea towels (especially the dots). Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI went to Ikea too this week and bought some of the same fabric. Those kids prints must be 3 metres long! I couldn't work it out from the packet but when I opened it up I was pleasantly surprised. Great Value.
ReplyDeleteI just went to IKEA for the first time last week and bought some fab fabric for drapes. Fortunately/Unfortunately I was with my non-sewing friends so I did not have a lot of time to look at everything they had. There is always next time! Love what you picked up!
ReplyDeleteHave only just stumbled upon your lovely blog. Such bright happy quilts! I also love the Ikea fabrics and they are such good value. Unfortunately for we crazy hand quilters they are just too tough on the fingers! A pity since Ikea Melbourne is literally down the road!
ReplyDeleteYes, IKEA is amazing...love the textiles.
ReplyDeleteNice! :) I was browsing IKEA textiles online the other day.
ReplyDeleteI love the IKEA dishtowels. My mom bought some this spring and I am making her coordinating potholders. I wish they came in yardage! :)
