In the mean time a new quilt project is well on the way.
Brown, yellow, red and orange and the customary Kona Cotton - white.
There has been a flurry of (extra careful - thanks for the timely warning!) rotary cutting, machine piecing, and layout re-arranging.
More soon.
Yes...be super careful with that rotary cutter. I love the trimmings shot though Rita. Fabulous remains.
ReplyDeleteMy rotary cutter bit me a few weeks ago. Not fun, but beats scissors! Love those colors. I'm fawning over blacks, brights yellows, and reds right now. My husband thinks I'm bonkers.
ReplyDeleteLove those trimmings Rit! And glad to hear you are being careful xx
ReplyDeleteOh I hear enough rotary cutter horror stories while I'm at work (at the quilt shop) so I try to be as careful as I possibly can! Makes me shudder just thinking about it!
ReplyDeleteLovely new project!! And yes, be extra careful with the cutter!
ReplyDeleteOoo, Rotary blades and kitchen knives make me nervous lately. I had a particularly bad accident while chopping lettuce last week. All is better now, I hope I learned my lesson. It really took a toll on my quilting projects.
ReplyDeleteThat project looks great, can't wait to see the finished product!
Every time I think I've learned my rotary cutter lesson, I do something else! Oh well, at least I'm a walking example to my sewing sisters! Beautiful colors, and I can't wait to see the end result!!
ReplyDeleteI save those little strips and use them in place of ribbon on packages, and also dump them in a bin and during the winter, crochet them together for all sorts of things. Love your color choices, makes me think about color a new way.
ReplyDeleteRita - I love the colors in these fabrics. Can't wait to see the finished quilt!
ReplyDeleteCant wait to see it, looks beautiful already!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love Kona Cotton. I feel a lot of quilters don't know about it. And although it doesn't have the great 'feel' like a Moda fabric or a Northcott fabric has....it quilts up so nice. I used it in the third quilt I made along with fabrics I bought 22 years ago to make my girls twin dresses and never did.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors & dots for the new quilt. Looking forward to more photos!
ReplyDeleteI've never cut my skin with a rotary cutter, by I have used it as a manicure tool frequently!
I told my family I want a Klutz glove for my birthday. All these photos of sliced fingers I've seen in blogland lately are freaking me out! And as clumsy as I am, it is probably just a matter of time!
