Sunday Stash #39

I may have forgotten to mention that I recently celebrated a birthday.  My work friends are not familiar with my Red Pepper Quilts alter ego, nor do they know that I am a fabric addict.

For my birthday they gave me a gorgeous address book covered in Liberty Fabric.  They were at a loss to understanding my jubilant "It's Liberty Fabric!"  reaction.  I was delighted with their choice of present and will continue to work on introducing them to the crafting world.

I have also been busy re-stashing some favorites.  The fabrics pictured are from the Katie Jump Rope collection by Denyse Schmidt - Basket Weave and Ribbon Flower in Green.  I found a yard of each of these more difficult to source fabrics on Etsy.

Happy Stashing!

  11. Happy Birthday, Rita - sounds like your aler-ego has been exposed in one little gasp, LOL! How could your co-workers not know - that just seems too funny - I am sure you eat, sleep, dream fabrics! I must say, Liberties are beckoning me a little!

  18. now I'm just feeling unorganized. I was imagining you had glorious days to do nothing but sew. You have a job too? Hmmm. I MUST work out my daily schedule better.

anyway, happy birthday! I have been trying to stock up on hard to find fabrics too.

  19. How on earth do you keep your quilting a secret and how on earth do you fit all of your quilts around work?
I always assumed you didn't have a day job because you churn out such intricate quilts on such a regular basis!
    Congrats anyway and happy birthday!

  20. Rita,
Many Happy (Belated) Returns of the Day! And I add my own incredulous astonishment to learn that you have a day job. How have you kept your quilting a secret from co-workers? How have you managed so much creative output in your 'spare time'? Do you sleep? No, wait! Don't answer that question!! It is enough that you stitch (and blog). I am going to forget the part about your day job. The very thought gives me anxiety. But I'm sure you do a splendid job, if your quilting gives any indication of your work(wo)manship.
As ever, your blog continues to delight this reader!

  21. Dear Rita,
A very happy birthday to you! And I must say along with the others, that I am quite astounded that your quilting is done alongside a "day job". I just assumed you did this full time! Thoroughly impressed!
