Monday

Although the weekends are always eagerly anticipated, I tend to quietly rejoice on  Monday mornings.  Calm has been restored and we are all back to our weekday rituals.

The Sisters' Market on Saturday was great fun.  It was an early start to the day, but with some help from my sister, for which I am ever so grateful, our stall was set up and the quilts displayed as scheduled.

I also have my MIL to thank for some of the display props which made setting up the stall easy, and added so much charm to the overall look of the stall.  Check out the huge collection of buttons stored in the vintage glass bottle!  Oh envy!

It was such a great opportunity to actually meet some really lovely like minded  (and incredibly creative!) people.   The blogging community has been so warm and welcoming, and to actually meet some of the people who read my blog made my day at the market a very rewarding experience.  Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello!

But it is back to the sewing machine today and it comes with comfort and relief  - my natural environment - and I am ready for some more stash busting.  My inspiration comes from Material Obsession Two, and I hope to test a block from one of the patterns in the book today. We'll see - the weather forecast is for a really long hot week, and my only coping strategy for this is to pretend it is not happening.  So far, so good.

  1. I can't wait to see which one you're attempting! MO2 is my night time reading! (Sad....but true!). I love staring at these patterns over and over - you see something different every time. Good luck and stay cool.

  2. Which one are you going to do?? I'm going to do "Coming up Roses" and just got all my fabrics together last week. I'm so excited about it. I wish I could just stop working and make that quilt!! Aren't those books amazing? I wonder if they are going to make any more. I have mine by my bed to read too, when they are not lent out that is!

  3. It was really nice to be able to stop and chat with you and Karen (if only briefly due to one hyperactive little fairy).
I hope it was a rewarding day ... in all senses of the word.

  8. Rita - the booth looked fantastic! You are such an inspiration!! I might just have to snag one of the Material Obsession books...even if I don't ever attempt one of the patterns, I'm guessing it's fun to look through!

  9. Gorgeous display! Is that some sort of chest the quilts are coming out of in the first picture? I'm trying to plan out my display for my first craft show next Saturday, and I love the idea of having little "props" around to set the mood. I might have to go digging around the house this week for something similar, if I can find the time!
