I have started a new project again using some of my fabric scraps. Admittedly I have also used some of my stash fabrics as most of my scraps at the moment are too small for the block that I have been piecing.
I have been working on these blocks for a few days now and they are progressing quite nicely. The blocks measure 5 1/2 inches at the moment. Five more blocks and then I am going to consider the layout.
Tuesday is often parcel day, and yesterday was no exception.
Amy Butler's new fabric collection "Love" was released just recently, and I was keen to see the range. Nice! Fat quarters of the entire range, purchased from MaterialGal on Etsy.
My favorite fabrics from the range are the less busy prints both in design and color, but I am sure that is likely to change as I get the chance to play with the fabrics.
What have you been up to this week?
it seems that everyone in blogland has been receiving their shipments of love these days. i must say, i am a bit jealous. it looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteOh I love that line! Everytime I look at my stash and spot it, I smile :) Your blocks look very lovely... can't wait to see what you do with them.
ReplyDeleteI've bought fabric from her etsy shop too! She has some really lovely pieces. I'll have to go look for these new A.B. prints!
ReplyDeleteI've been eying her new collection but want to see it in person at my fabric shop before I purchase any. It looks gorgeous! I think the dots are my fav!
ReplyDeleteI've been working on a HST quilt top... after tonight the top is about 50% pieced! Plus... about 4 other WIPs, of course ;-)
I've been eyeing off Amy's collection too, I really should put my order in.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the quilt you are working on. You are so productive!
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh, you have LOVE in the house!
I was really disappointed with Amy's new collection...far too busy for florally (is that a word?) for my taste. I much prefer her more retro inspired work. But I guess this way I'll save money!
ReplyDeleteI love the fact that a few of your recent quilts have been made from your stash fabric! This one is no exception, the white center block is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThe AB range looks great x
Love your scrap/stash blocks and can't wait to see how you lay them out. I got my order of 1/2 yards of AB Love on Tuesday, too; but it's still Tuesday here for almost 3 more hours :). I am in love with every single fabric in the line!
ReplyDeletethis week i have been spending ages of time trying to look at all the blogger quilt festival entries...and sew in the meantime.
ReplyDeleteYour project looks verrrrrry nice!!!
ReplyDeleteDivine fabric stack.
ReplyDeleteYour mission is to start using them, so as to create AB scraps, then use those scraps in your delicious new quilt.
(I suspect the new quilt will be well and truly finished by then, knowing you!!)
Andi :-)
I can't wait to see your layout for this quilt - I love your use of fresh fabrics combined with the crisp white cotton - just lovely.
ReplyDeleteOoooh....some l-o-o-o-v-e! I can't wait to see it in person. Also can't wait to see your new layout -- the blocks look yummy!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are looking gorgeous, I love the white! Isn't the Love beautiful? I have 4 so far, with more on the way! xo
ReplyDeleteBeing the tactile person I am...I'm waiting to hit a shop that carries her new stuff. But, I've almost made a firm commitment not to buy any more fabric this year. Except for the two trips our family was supposed to make for mini vacations, but didn't get to...so does that mean I get two shopping days? LOL
ReplyDeleteI've been attending Amy's festival online. Going to soccer and basketball games/practices. Teaching geometry and Algebra I. Cooking, cleaning and coping with the laundry pile. And working on a new block I've never done before. Seen here:

as a prototype for a mini quilt swap. And working on a new quilt top I'm designing blocks for.
See what happens when you inspire people, dear! We get busy!
I'll have to check out this new line, I love your blocks and will look forward to more.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are beautiful. How do you get them looking so fresh with the seams laying so flat? Mine do not look like that ;-)) Love the scrap blocks with the white center. Can't wait to see the layout.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been too productive, with the exception of Tuesday, since I've been spending lots of time at the online festival.
My goodness you have some beautiful scraps! I love the white in the middle!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your new Amy Butler fabrics. I havent seen the collection yet... must have a look.
I have been too busy this week checking out all the fabulous quilts in Amy's Fall Quilt Festival!
Arabella
Those fabrics are so cheerful!! The second-last photo is just a wonderful riot of colour! And your blocks are fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed at how much you get done! It's inspiring, but also makes me wonder what's wrong with me! :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't fabric mail the best?!?
