Having enjoyed the improvisational piecing of the blocks for Louise on the weekend, I have continued the theme with some impromptu piecing, using the fabrics from Sunday Stash as well as a new print from Moda Fabrics by Sweetwater.
The new Moda fabric collection is called Authentic. My favorite print in the range is called "In the News" which has lengthy dictionary definitions of words like "real", "original" and "simple". Accordingly I have kept the piecing simple but have used many fabrics of interest to create this original design.
I am really enjoying this process, and love watching the pieces come together like a jigsaw puzzle. I am also getting better at incorporating some of the new fabrics from my growing stash of cute Japanese fabrics. These fabrics are quaintly detailed and add so much interest to the quilt.
I am hoping to finish this little quilt top today, and even make a start on the backing! That's the plan anyway.
I really love what you've done... you always have the best fabric choices! And that fabric from the Authentic line is my favourite too!!!

ReplyDeleteIt looks so fresh and great! I also like the newspaperfabric.
ReplyDeleteVery lively! I like the brown and red fabric, as well. I can't make it out exactly but it looks like wagon wheels on strings.
ReplyDeleteYour quilts show a lot of variety in color and patterns. It's really inspiring to see all of your ideas. :)
