Here is one I prepared earlier. Yes, I do have plenty of unfinished quilt tops and work in progress that are demanding some attention. I do not feel burdened by unfinished quilts, but rather re-assured by that fact that there is always something that I can work on. It is better to remain positive about these things hey? Who doesn't have unfinished quilts?
Spring has sprung in Melbourne, and we are enjoying a gorgeous Spring day with lovely sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures, but it is oh so windy! This is great for the washing, but not ideal for taking pictures of quilts!
Pretty! I have about 4 unfinished tops and 3 more wips that aren't even tops yet. Eek!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous photo of the quilt in the wind though! It is so beautiful yet again!! You really have the most wonderful selection of fabrics and a great flair for putting them together just perfectly.
ReplyDeleteLove this top, it looks fresh. I also have several unfinished tops, but it doesn't stop me from making new ones.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one with UFO's!!
ReplyDeleteThis one will be another stunner to add to the collection.
Andi :-)
I have never finished a quilt - I'm still trying to get brave enough to machine quilt my own! I have 3 1/2 quilt tops waiting for my attention!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Heather Bailey's Fresh Cut line. I have sample pieces from the line (cuts of each that are a bit wider than a Jelly Roll so it's hard to find the right pattern).
ReplyDeleteYour quilt top has inspired me to do something with my stash!
Gorgeous top, can't wait to see how you quilt it.
I also have a couple of quilt tops awaiting the next steps.
ReplyDeleteWhen you first started quilting, did you ever imagine that you'd actually have quilt tops piling up, waiting to be basted and quilted?
Love it! I've a bunch of fabrics from that collection and they're so gorgeous. Btw I'm working on a Moda Wonderland quilt that looks very similar! Oops! And I have a couple of unfinished quilts lying around... like you said, who doesn't!
ReplyDeleteUnfinished quilt tops, mmm.. only a few! Lovely quilt - how are you planning to quilt it?
ReplyDeleteoh I love the fresh cut range! I just can't get enough of it, its so perfect for little and big girls!
ReplyDeletelove all your quilts and thanks for the link on your list of japanese fabric stores! I feel the lucky one having such a fabulous stash!
Corrie:)
I love the photo anyway. I have a lot of quilt tops too.
ReplyDeleteUnfinished almost sounds negative. They are all just potential quilts at different stages. I do not understand finishing one before starting another. What happens if you feel like quilting but all you have is piecing to do?
ReplyDeletePlus it excuses the stash :) Happy part-finishing-before-being-distracted-by-something-new!
Abbe
It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour quilts are always so fresh and clean ... love that style!
ReplyDeleteOne cube of my storage cubby is reserved for quilt tops. They are folded neatly and waiting patiently.
Yep, I have lots of unfinished tops.....lots! But they'll get done one day. Love this one of yours - fresh!
ReplyDeleteFresh Cut is my absolute favorite collection...it's colors make me smile...can't wait to see the pieced back!!
ReplyDeleteI find that one of the main reasons I end up with an unfinished top is that I can't decide on the backing or binding....so I wait for the inspiration to come..
I adore HB Fresh Cut line, well done!
ReplyDeleteI only have 1 unfinished quilt top, and it belonged to my hubby's great-grandma who passed away in the last few years. I plan to finish it and give to the grandparents as a Christmas gift this year. Which reminds me, ITS SEPTEMBER! I NEED TO GET ON THAT! ;-)
I love these prints by Heather Bailey and this quilt shows them off perfectly - love it!!!
ReplyDeleteI love simple quilt patterns where the fabric can shine! I think I see some lovely Amy Butlers shining through among the Fresh Cut.
ReplyDeleteI actually love the effect of the wind on the quilt top with the sky in the background. Seems perfect to me!
ReplyDeleteI agree, I like the windy picture.
ReplyDeleteBut I must admit, I'm slightly jealous of your spring... Around here everything is getting colder.
what great clothesline photos! it's beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt. Can't wait to see the finished quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you have photographed these quilts, and the quilts themselves are beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteNot sure how I missed this one?!? But lovely!
ReplyDeleteYou are right about unfinished quilts but I have one that needs to be hand-quilted? Maybe after I've gotten over my initial love with my sewing machine.
