Pretty Thrifty

It is not often that I do "pretty", but I have enjoyed piecing this baby quilt top from the thrifted floral pillowcase that I purchased earlier in the week.

The pastel pink dot fabric is by Kaffe Fassett.

I am quilting it today. It feels as light as a feather after my last quilting episode!

I just wanted to sew something quick and easy after last week's Block Party effort. The search is also on for more vintage linens!

  1. It looks lovely Rita and I am not surprised that you wanted some 'easy' sewing after last week! Better get back to the packing. See you soon!

  4. What a gorgeous baby quilt - and the thrifted fbric really shines! I have recently been drawn to the vintage pillowcases in op shops but don't know what to do with them so your baby quilt is quite inspiring!

  5. You are fast!! We just watched a few episodes of the first season of the Mary Tyler Moore show (from the 70's) and she had sheets on her bed very much like your pillowcases. I notice things like that now. ;)

  7. Really gorgeous.
Its easy to forget how fabulous a quilt can look with only 2 fabrics.
I get so carried away with putting together a million different fabrics.

  10. I really like this! I have a small collection of pillowcases that I want to work with and the addition of the polka dots would be perfect! Thanks for the inspiration!
