This Mini Quilt was quite time consuming to make and created a lot of mess. Next time I will need to be more organised about it, with pre-cut fabric strips and prepared foundation papers.
I have used some of my many selvedges that I have accumulated over the years as part of the blocks. They pay tribute to some great fabric designers and manufacturers.
Be sure to take a look at some of the wonderful quilts on the Mini Quilt Monday Flickr Group.
Wow, that's just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a lot of work!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing!!! Truly...with the quilts you churn out you should start holding quilting and design classes. Such a great eye for putting colours together!!
ReplyDeleteI have seen a lot of spider web quilts lately and this is truly the prettiest!
ReplyDeleteReally stunning.
ReplyDeleteYou never fail to impress Rita!!!
this mini quilt is beautiful. i need to do some just to try out new techniques, and so i can hang all of them up on a wall somewhere in my house
ReplyDeleteThat is one STUNNING little quilt! The quilt has the WOW factor! WOW! The solid fabric you used also makes the colors POP! Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteI love it, I'd love to have a go at a full size quilt but as you say, I think that would require cutting a lot of strips and being organised.
ReplyDeleteI love how you arranged the blocks into four half circles - and the quilting. Oh my! That was inspired! I also like that you used some selvedges along with regular strips. I think that is more do-able for most of us.
ReplyDeleteThis is really cute. I love all the things you make because you choose such bright and cheerful colors! The same kind I would choose!
ReplyDeletewow thats amazing..i have never seen a quilt like this- thanks for sharing : )
ReplyDeleteOh that is just gorgeous...I love the selvedges you have interspersed throughout the quilt, brilliant!

ReplyDeleteI really want to make a spiderweb too. Maybe if I start small I'll get hooked? Yours is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI saw a great tutorial for a spiderweb without using papers - http://quilt-it.blogspot.com/2009/01/tutorial-spiderweb.html
And to think so many people fling their selvedges in the bin....surely a crime now!!
