Half Hexagon Quilt-Along Progress

This has been my point of focus for the last two days. I am quilting straight lines to quilt my Half Hexagon Quilt, but also outlining some of the hexagons, which does involve a lot of moving the quilt from side to side whilst under the machine. Sigh ...

I do hope to finish the quilting today.

Be sure to look at the other wonderful Half Hexagon Quilts on the Flickr Quilt-Along Group. There are some very creative quilters out there. The color and layout variations are truly inspiring.

  4. Oh thanks for putting the link to the flickr group (I've just started subscribing to your blog) I was wondering how you did that quilt. It looks amazing, but much more painless than the papar piecing method I started with years and years ago! I love the business of your quiilt. So sort of retro. If you know what I mean!

  8. er! Now I remember - bad memory lapses due to birthing 3 children who at ages 5-9 refuse to give me back that part of my brain they took the days they were born. I found your original post about it too late though.

Maybe another time b/c those cute little people under 4 ft tall are wearing me out on purpose dragging me to the beach, library, lake, park, lunch, park, store, pool, beach... Lucky they are so darn cute and so much fun and make me laugh more than my sewing machine (:

  14. I am so jealous seeing all these hexagonal quilts from the quilt along. I really wanted to participate but am too busy at the moment. They are great! I love the easy solution to sewing hexagons. I don't believe that I would have thought of it on my own!
