This will be my view for today - I am still quilting my Block Party Quilt. I have decided to quilt it with organic straight lines. No marking lines, just quilting straight lines. The quilting is going well but ...
why did I decided to quilt these lines so close together? I love the look of all these lines, but what was I thinking?
I am going to be quilting for a while. I am enjoying the slow process and the school holidays though!
Looks fantastic! Good luck
ReplyDeleteit looks great so far! i can't wait to see it done!
ReplyDeleteYes indeed you mad woman!! But it's going to be sooo worth it! I love it.
ReplyDeleteit looks great! It will be worth it!
ReplyDeleteKnow what You mean but it looks Fabulous so far....
ReplyDeletecheers
Looks wonderful! So worth the trouble.
ReplyDeleteIt really gives it such a FANTASTIC look. I'm going to straight line quilt my 9 patch quilt. I'm putting it off because straight line is sooooo much harder than stippling!:) I really love the end result every time on your quilts so I'm going to suck it up and start tomorrow!:)
ReplyDeleteYou have the patience of a saint -- but what a payoff! It is looking great!
ReplyDeleteRita - it looks fantastic!! But how in the world do you keep your lines so straight?? My first attempt at this over the weekend was a disaster! any tips?
ReplyDeleteI'm with everyone else - stick with it because it looks fantastic! I think straight lines give it that really modern look which I love most about your quilts :)
ReplyDeleteOh, this looks great! I just handquilted a baby quilt with organic straight lines- but mine were a lot more "organic" than straight! LOL! I like the look either way- machine or hand, straight or "organic".
ReplyDeleteYour quilts are always so modern and cool looking! I just love reading your blog!
I, too love the modern look as you know, Rita - organic straight lines? - I missed something somewhere and would love to know how you do it!
ReplyDeleteHugs - Lurline♥
Gorgeous as usual!!! Love the simplicity of the straight lines.
ReplyDeleteLooking amazing.
ReplyDeleteProbably feels beautiful too with all that close quilting.
Andi :-)
I know what you mean the last quilt I quited I did it cross hatched I usually freemotion all my quilts but this took so long and it is sooo boring. I heavily quilt my quilts but freemotion is so much quicker than straight lines I couldn't believe it.
ReplyDeleteProbably because they look so darn good!
ReplyDeleteI know - but in the end it will look amazing and be totally worth it! It already looks fantastic!
ReplyDeletelol
ReplyDeleteI know what you feel!
Since then, I'm thinking twice before beginning my quilting... even if I had great a inspiration;)))
but it looks fan-tas-tic, that's for sure!!!!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, I did the close together line thing myself recently although not on such a large area though. Yours looks great though.
ReplyDeleteThe quilting looks wonderful. Thank you for your basting and binding tutorial earlier. I hope you have a good chair to sit on, take some breaks and just enjoy your beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteLots of work but the result is stunning!
ReplyDeleteYour view is just wonderful! the quilting is looking spectacular. I am sure you will be pleased with the outcome.
ReplyDeleteit is beautiful!!! your quilting looks great.
ReplyDeleteLovely! You'll be so happy when its done! I adore the straight quilting, but not sure I'd attempt it on anything bigger than a baby quilt :-) You're insane! In a good way haha
ReplyDeleteThe quilt looks great and i love the lines! It is going to be perfect when it is done!
