I chose Amy Butler's Full Moon Polka Dot in Lime, from the Lotus range as the binding fabric. I really love this fabric, and have used it numerous times as binding for a quilt.
The finished size of this quilt is 34 inches x 48 inches. It has turned out a little smaller than what the pattern states, but I suspect that I was supposed to add seam allowances to the instructions. Not that it matters.
This was a relatively easy project, and is great for using all your scraps. This time the straight line quilting for this project was probably the most challenging part of the quilt for me. But you could quilt it with any design you like.
It so satisfying finishing a quilt! I has spurred me on to finally finish the binding on theTriangle Quilt also:
On that note, I hope you all have a great weekend. Here in Australia we are celebrating the Queen's Birthday (of England!) on Monday, and will be enjoying a long weekend.
Both quilts look sensational! What a productive week, I bet you feel so good to have finished them...especially before the long weekend. I hope you put your heels up and enjoy a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful! I love the Strips and Bricks one - may have to hunt down the magazine. And Full Moon Dot in any color is the absolute best for bindings - I love it!

ReplyDeleteIs it Queenie's birthday monday? How awful is it that us Brits don't do anything? Canada has Victoria day (a few weeks ago), you get Queen Liz's birthday, we get bugger all. Boo hiss. Have a great weekend!
Sooooo much nicer than depicted in the magazine - wonderful! I can't wait to have a little play! Maybe a nice table runner for Christmas in July!

ReplyDeleteThe stripes and bricks quilt is so pretty but I swoon when I see the triangle quilt. I just love it. I'd love to "be inspired" by it (copy it!) but I probably never will get to it on my to do list.
