The Curvy Log Cabin Quilt is finished and I am really pleased with how it turned out. I love process piecing, the kind that requires many of the same blocks to be made, so this was indeed a labor of love. Late nights at the sewing machine with coffee close by!
The Fabrics:
Solid fabrics are Robert Kaufman Kona Cotton in Silver and White.
For the back of the quilt I have used a single red polka dot fabric on a white background from the Delilah collection by Tanya Whelan ~ a classic "can't go wrong with a polka dot" fabric.
Quilted with edge to edge straight lines (the majority of which are stitched in the ditch), creating an all over grid the width of which varies as the width of the fabric strips vary. I have used my favorite black/white stripe fabric for the binding for a clean/sharp look.
This is project number 40 for 2014! I don't usually keep count of the number of quilts that I make each year but I do back up and store images both online and offline, and at the end of each calendar year the images are sorted and organized in folders etc. Forty folders = forty projects. Lots of stitching. It has been a busy and creative year!
Thank you for stopping by,
Rita

ReplyDeleteJust lovely. The fabric choices are so nice. Love the design and especially the silver and white combo, the polka background and of course the stripe binding. Yahhh....there goes an Aussie.
ReplyDeleteGotta love how the white and gray set off those colors son the neutral side of the block!!
ReplyDeleteOh Rita! You out did yourself. The two tone on the one side is stellar;)
ReplyDeleteIt is truely amazing how much more geometric the white and grey look in these photos new that it's quilted than in the flimsy finish you posted before. I love how all your quilts have your signature look about them.
