Spring into Spring - A Quilt in Progress

I have a lot of fabric. There, I said it, but I bet you already knew that. I do use a lot of fabric and love that I have such a great variety of fabric on hand, but I do need to focus on working from stash, and using up all those odd pieces that end up tumbling out of my otherwise tidy piles of fabric ~ the scraps. Much too good to discard.

For this quilt I have worked predominantly with a yellow, green, and blue color palette, contrasted with a touch of black and a splash of orange ~ inspired by the change in season. Spring. You are most welcome.

For the design I have kept it simple and traditional: hourglass blocks (4" finished blocks) with a random scattering of plain squares. Easy sewing but lots of repetitive patchwork piecing. It has been a good week.

The rest of my week looks like this: basting, quilting, and binding.

  1. Rita, what a great color scheme for your scraps! I love the fabrics and design! Is that black and white stripe the binding to be? It looks really snazzy!

  3. I love to use & share my overflowing stash/store... However, there always seems to be additional fabrics I "need" to round out the next quilt... ;)

  4. So beautiful! I love the color combination! There are some grey and blue honeycombs in there. Can you remember which fabric that is?
