Arcadia Quilt - Into the Woods ... |
... where deer, bluebirds, flutterflies and butterflies,
snails and bugs, toadstools, bouquets of fragrant herbs and wildflowers,
sunflowers and tumbling weeds,
all live peacefully together ...
This quilt was all about the fabrics, the colors and the prints. Mixing the stormy blues with cheerful yellow, a touch of green, and soft pink. Softly, softly ... you don't want to frighten the sweet deer. [For more details on the individual fabrics used please refer to the work in progress blog post.]
Quilted with sets of edge to edge (double) lines, although quilted just one line at a time. One stitch at a time. And for the back of the quilt I have used a single fabric from the Wee Wander collection by Sarah Jane. If you've had the pleasure of using or even touching this fabric you'll know that it is luxuriously soft and gives the quilt a light and airy feel.
For the quilt binding I have used the very last piece of a favorite pink/white striped fabric from stash: Simpatico - Straws in Pink.
This quilt is for sale and is listed in my Etsy Store.
