Denyse Schmidt has been delighting fabric addicts and quilters worldwide not only with the Legacy Flea Market Fancy reprint, but also by continuing to release numerous fabric collections with Fabric Traditions (under the name DS Quilts) available through chain stores (like Joann Fabrics and Spotlight).
Featured here today is Aunt Edna which is the latest DS Quilts release (available in Australia in May 2012). Aunt Edna comes in two color palettes: Cherry (above left) and Far Meadow (above right).
The quality of these fabrics has improved significantly from the first DS Quilts collection (Picnics and Fairgrounds) ~ the fabrics are softer, lighter, with a smooth touch and a lovely drape.
I am looking forward to cutting into these fabrics! The colors and designs remind me of the Hope Valley fabric range also by Denyse Schmidt; I think these two collections will work nicely alongside one another.
Enjoy Sunday,
Rita

Aunt Edna was purchased and is available from Fabric Worm.
Love that fabric. Thanks for sharing because we don't have a Joanns here in the UK.
ReplyDeleteVery very nice new fabric! I really love that name too, truth be told!
ReplyDeleteI thought the Picnics and Fairgrounds prints were really nice quality! This collection is more appealing to me than that one was, so hearing that it's even better quality is a plus.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing. I hope to stash away the Cherry prints with my pink/orange Hope Valley prints. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteI bought almost the same array today and will watch what you make with yours for ideas.
ReplyDeleteI love these fabrics so much I have already made 2 quilts with them (with a little Hope Valley mixed in).

Ok.... The fabric's great, but I want to know how you do your photography? Do you have a light box? Professional lights? What's your secret? I love following your blog, mostly because your photography is always amazing! Please share some advice for beginners!

Love this line. Only have a couple of the prints, I should definitely go back for more, thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteLove those spots Rita. Thanks for adding colour to Sundays with your stash posts.
ReplyDeleteLove the fabrics! Do they have any UK stockists for them?
ReplyDeleteI'm holding a small swap over at my blog if anyone is interested please pop over for a look =D

Oh, wow, your photos make these look so good! I ordered a fq bundle last week but was a little worried because they look so dark in some shots. But these are just yummy!
ReplyDeleteEstou apaixonada.beijo.
ReplyDeleteThese really are beautiful fabrics. I agree that the quality seems better and more consistent, and I think they look so great with Hope Valley, still one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting. At Joann's, it seems to me the quality of the first line was better and more consistent with later lines feeling coarse and of worse quality. Maybe they just got some bad bolts or something.
